My wife and I came in for lunch today. We each had falafel burgers. One was without the bun, so Julie made a nice substitution with lettuce leaves. We also had the regular fries and the sweet potato fries. It was all very delicious. Thank you!

10/10 Experience, the food is devine and is a must try!!!!!! Pita bread is fresh and soft, sesame sauce is delish, and the grilled chicken is super juicy!

Had a really nice late lunch at Julie's later in the afternoon on a Saturday. It's located in a cute little courtyard in downtown San Rafael with options for indoor or outdoor seating. I ordered the falafel salad and they were very generous with the amount of falafel. Crisp cucumber tomato salad was mixed in keeping the dish cool & fresh. A side of pita might be a nice touch with their salads, but otherwise, it was perfection. I had half for the next day. Simple and casual ambiance and everything looked very tasty. I'd definitely come back and try a wrap next time.

I love this spot. Got some to go food after some SF beer week fun at California Gold. Asked the lady at the counter was she recommended and she gave me several options and I chose the beef and lamb platter. so happy with my choice and it taste so fresh. I'll be back.

This place is by far one of the best Greek restaurants I've ever visited. It's counter service but they bring your food to you once it's ready and, my oh my, is the food delicious! The prices are fantastic for the portions you get and the food is varied and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The ambience is very nice and includes beautifully drawn murals of coastal Greece. They have everything for carnivores, omnivores, and vegetarians alike, including a fantastic vegetarian falafel burger with a gigantic falafel patty and a scrumptious sampler tray, to name just a few items. They also have a points program that can be used for future purchases. I highly recommend this place!

Driving through San Rafael today I stopped for lunch & was hankering some good Mediterranean food. The yelp reviews led me to Julie's. I was greeted quite warmly by a young woman. I ordered the falafel salad which was gorgeous when I first got it. As it was a to go order I expected napkins & utensils, yet none were given. Sadly, the salad was rather wilted by the time I ate it. I suppose I should have asked for the dressing on the side. The falafel bits were excellent but everything else was sadly wilted. Additionally, the dressing was a bit too salty. The pita chips I ordered were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside- loved them! I was disappointed with the hummus as I assumed it would be outstanding. Maybe it's a preference thing, but I like my hummus on the creamier side and this was course and too lemony. The baklava was delightful- albeit a very small piece. I liked that there was outdoor seating. If I return here I try ordering something different.

If you're on the hunt for some authentic Greek/Mediterranean food while happening to be in the San Rafael area, "Julie's Hummus Bar & Grill" will definitely have you covered. I am actually a native of this city having lived here from the mid-80s to early-2000s. And to make a visit back here shows just how much has changed over the years. Located directly on Court St. (right below Rafael Town Center Apartments) and in between 4th St. and 5th Ave. in central San Rafael, Julie's has been dishing out yummy Eastern European cuisine since late-2018. My +1 and I came here (on an empty stomach) during the afternoon of Saturday 7/15/2023 at around 3:30pm. It was an above average 87° day in San Rafael and since many businesses don't have air conditioning (including this one), it was a little bit warm on the inside. As far as the interior layout of this place, there is ample seating throughout and one really cool detail is the huge mural paintings overlooking from what resembles the Aegean Sea in Greece. You will also notice a menu board that showcases a ton of options to choose from including salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, hummus, falafel, tacos, and complete platters. They also carry a very respectable beer selection in addition to their normal self-serve fountain drinks. As far as what we were craving, I ended up going with their "Lamb Mediterranean Burger" (priced at $16.99). This included their signature Tzatziki sauce with tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumber mint sauce on a toasted bun. I also chose a side of thick-cut steak fries and a fountain drink to complete my order. My +1 went with their "Chicken Kabob Wrap" (priced at $15.99). This wrap packs in garlic spread, grilled onions, grilled tomatoes, & pickles. In addition to the wrap, she chose a traditional Greek salad which has lettuce, feta cheese, Greek olives, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and pepperoncinis drizzled with Tahini dressing. Even though we were the only ones dining in, both our meals came out in about 12 minutes. I am totally okay with this since I heard the lamb meat sizzling when it hit the grill which meant everything is made fresh to order. And when it was ready, the size of this patty was absolutely huge; at least 1/2 lb. of actual meat. Everything was presented to me perfectly as the burger did its job by filling me up. Even the wrap that my +1 had was huge as this thing packed in a ton of chicken and tons of flavor to go with it. All in all, "Julie's Hummus Bar & Grill" absolutely exceeded my expectations. The service was great as the young woman that took my order was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable while the gentleman that made our food did everything professionally and in a timely manner. Greek restaurants are few and far between; especially in Marin County. So this was definitely a pleasant surprise. My rating for Julie's; a unanimous five stars.

We came here yesterday for lunch and ordered our favorite chicken Shawarma, one to go and one there to share. We also shared six falafels. The falafels were some of the best we ever had. It was very similar to the ones I buy from Troy's in the East Bay. I think Troy's is fried longer so they are harder but these were more delicate which I appreciate. The sauce that came with it was super creamy and I would have enjoyed a little spicy sauce to go with it. Today, we had the order of chicken Shawarma to go at home and it was just as good. Definitely recommend. We make trips out here for lunch here with a stop by Johnny's donuts and Rustic Bakery.
